Instructed in relation to proceedings brought against an individual by PhonePayPlus, the regulator of the premium rate telecommunications industry, arising out of irregularities in the operation of GMTV competitions. The procedure which the regulator proposed to adopt was manifestly unfair, in breach of the principles of natural justice and Article 6 ECHR. The case also raised the issue of the confidentiality owed to a former employer.
