Maltbaek Announced Decision

Feb 10

Catherine Callaghan recently represented Catherine Maltbaek, a headteacher of a Catholic primary school in Plymouth, in her successful defence of a charge of unacceptable professional conduct before the General Teaching Council. The GTC alleged that Mrs Maltbaek had bullied and acted inappropriately towards the former deputy head of the school.  On 26 February, after a 15-day hearing in which Mrs Maltbaek gave evidence and called 12 witnesses on her behalf, a Professional Conduct Committee of the GTC dismissed the allegation, clearing Mrs Maltbaek of any misconduct.
