The Court of Appeal has upheld judges' rights to jail the most serious offenders for the rest of their lives in England & Wales. The European Court of Human Rights had ruled that this breached human rights which led to the challenge from a couple of men sentenced to whole-life terms. The whole-life term will continue to be imposed in rare and exceptional cases.
