The EAT has handed down judgment (12 May 2015) in this case, allowing the BBC’s appeal against an anonymity order. The EAT held that the employment tribunal had been wrong to take into account the risk of the public believing in the truth of unproven allegations of sexual harassment against an unfair dismissal claimant when it decided to extend the anonymity order. The public interest in open justice in such a case outweighed the individual’s right to a private life.
