Proposed extension of pre-charge detention to 42 days

In a Joint Opinion for Liberty, David Pannick QC and Shaheed Fatima have advised that the Government's proposals to extend pre-charge detention to 42-days do not provide the same, or similar, safeguards to those in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
