Chaired by Ian Mill QC, the powerful line up of speakers features many of Blackstone Chambers’ sports law specialists including Michael Beloff QC, Robert Englehart QC, Lord Pannick QC, Tim Otty QC, Adam Lewis QC, Tom Croxford, Andrew Hunter, Tom de la Mare, Jane Mulcahy, Kate Gallafent, Nick De Marco, Tom Hickman, James Segan and Tom Richards.
The closing interactive panel discussion, entitled 'Why the Press Loves to Hate Sport' will have guest panellists from the media and sporting worlds as well as Blackstone Chambers. Our guest panellist are, Lawrence Dallaglio OBE, the former rugby international, turned businessman and charity promoter; Max Mosley, the former president of the FIA; Marina Hyde, the Guardian's sport and celebrity columnist; and Patrick Collins, the chief sports writer on the Mail on Sunday.
Topics under consideration during the day will include: fighting doping in sport, sport & the media, how to win cases in CAS, and football focus. The afternoon will offer workshops on child protection, legal issues in the Olympics and Paralympics, and employment issues in sport.
At the end of the conference there is an optional stadium tour and a drinks reception.
The delegate fee of £245 + VAT is only intended to cover the costs of running the conference and should there be any profit it will be donated to Centrepoint and the Bar Pro Bono Unit.
