“Spotlight on the Bar” – Blackstone’s Young Guns

31 Oct 04

In a major Legal Week survey of litigation chiefs at the UK’s top 50 law firms, Blackstone has emerged as “the leading challenger to the Bar’s commercial elite”.

Blackstone was the most highly ranked chambers in the survey carried out by Legal Week outside the magic circle, with its tenants receiving 11 nominations. These included citations for four of its QCs, Ian Mill QC, Thomas Beazley QC, Barbara Dohmann QC and David Pannick QC, whilst in terms of numbers of junior barristers nominated by litigators for the survey, the set led the field, with seven named as rising stars by respondents: James Eadie, Dinah Rose, Robert Howe, Pushpinder Saini, Tom de la Mare, Tom Weisselberg and Andrew George. One of the litigation chiefs involved in the survey noted that "Blackstone is a rising star... it is modern and forward thinking…is very good at commercial work….. and is the first among equals in human rights and judicial review work” .
