The War on Terror and Human Rights Law in the UK

On Tuesday 14 October, Shaheed Fatima gave a talk as part of Harvard Law School's human rights programme on human rights law in the UK and abroad since September 11.
Shaheed, who is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, examined human rights law in the U.K. and abroad since September 11, looking specifically at the human rights ramifications of the war in Iraq, pre-charge detention, the use of "control orders" restraining suspected terrorists, extraordinary rendition, and the admissibility (in UK legal proceedings) of evidence obtained from torture.
Shaheed Fatima will teach 'The War on Terror and Human Rights Law in the UK' in the Spring Term 2009 at Harvard Law School.
