Joe Tomlinson, Senior Lecturer in Public Law at the University of York, has been appointed to the Academic Research Panel at Blackstone Chambers.

Joe has broad experience of leading research related to judicial review litigation and his work has been used and cited in leading cases, including RR v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions [2019] UKSC 52, R (on the application of Miller) v The Prime Minister and Cherry and others v Advocate General for Scotland [2019] UKSC 41, and Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants v The President of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) [2020] EWHC 3103 (Admin). He also regularly acts in advisory roles, including in Parliament and for litigation funders.
