Blackstone Chambers and Guy Fox History Project are marking International Women’s Day 2021 by donating copies of our educational book History Rocks: Women in Law to primary schools.

By inviting colleagues and friends to nominate a school, we are donating approximately 2,000 books to schools across the country as children return to classrooms this month.

History Rocks: Women in Law, which was illustrated by pupils at Snowsfields Primary School in London, presents a history of equal rights, how Parliament works and the people in our legal system. The book celebrates a century of legal history, starting with the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act of 1919 and highlighting the stories of women who’ve made their mark as barristers, solicitors, judges and members of Parliament.

We hope this fantastic educational resource will inspire the next generation of lawyers, barristers and judges.

This is the third book developed in partnership between Blackstone Chambers and Guy Fox, having previously collaborated on ‘How the World REALLY Works: Our Legal System’ (2013) and ‘History Rocks: Magna Carta’ (2015). Guy Fox History Project is an educational charity in London, with a simple mission: To create innovative activities and publications that encourage children to explore the world around them.
