Jason Pobjoy has won the young practitioner of the year award in the WorldECR Awards 2018.
The WorldECR Awards recognise outstanding work, vision, best practice and contribution to international security, of organisations and individuals working in the fields of export control and sanctions compliance and non-proliferation.
World ECR judges stated that Jason's 'exceptional talent and expertise' marked him out as 'just excellent … surely a star of the future’. They go on to state 'his knowledge of sanctions law is ‘unparalleled'. He is a creative sanctions lawyer, with an excellent sense of judgment.’ Many of Jason’s legal arguments have been accepted by the General Court in the past few years, which has contributed to the development of EU sanctions law.'
Jason has extensive experience in challenging and advising on EU and international asset-freezing sanctions, and is recognised as a leading sanctions lawyer in the EU. He is currently acting for more than 20 individuals and entities in over a dozen challenges to asset-freezing regimes before the General Court of the EU and the Court of Justice.
