Shaheed Fatima QC presented the findings of the Inquiry on Protecting Children in Conflict with Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at a seminar at New York University (“NYU”).
The Inquiry was commissioned in April 2017 to look at the framework of international human rights law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law regarding children in conflict. The legal panel, led by Shaheed Fatima QC, has produced a report on that framework. The Inquiry is chaired by UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and sponsored by the charities Save the Children and Theirworld.
The seminar was chaired by Margaret Satterthwaite, Clinical Professor of Law at NYU and included a presentation of findings by Shaheed Fatima QC, a summary of the motivation behind establishing the inquiry by Gordon Brown and a review of the findings by Harold Koh.
