Tim Otty QC founded the Human Dignity Trust in 2011. This year they reflect on their achievements over the last decade.
The Human Dignity Trust remains the only organisation working globally to support strategic litigation to challenge laws that persecute people on the basis of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. They work with LGBT activists and lawyers around the world to defend human rights in countries where private, same-sex, consensual sexual activity is criminalised. Since its inception, the Trust has provided technical legal expertise to LGBT people pursuing the protection of their human rights through the courts in 25 countries across five continents, receiving more than £18 million of pro ono technical legal assistance.
In their new report, Defending Dignity: A decade of championing the rights of LGBT people, the Human Dignity Trust celebrates their key achievements over the past 10 years. The report includes an introduction from Tim, outlining his reasons for founding the Trust, the work they have done so far, and his ambitions for the future. You can read the full report here.
Accompanying the report is the Trust's new film, which you can watch below.
