The Human Dignity Trust recognised at The British Legal Awards

Founded in 2011 by Tim Otty KC, The Human Dignity Trust has been actively supported by a number of barristers at Blackstone Chambers, including: Gemma White KC, Tristan Jones,  Tom Mountford, Isabel Buchanan, Gayatri Sarathy.  

The Human Dignity Trust remains the only organisation working globally to support strategic litigation to challenge laws that persecute people on the basis of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. They work with LGBT activists and lawyers around the world to defend human rights in countries where private, same-sex, consensual sexual activity is criminalised. Since its inception, the Trust has provided technical legal expertise to LGBT people pursuing the protection of their human rights through the courts in 25 countries across five continents, receiving more than £18 million of pro bono technical legal assistance.
