Paul Goulding QC chaired an international panel of employment lawyers discussing enforcement of non-compete clauses in employment contracts. The discussion arises from the UK Government’s current consultation on reform of non-competes, which proposes mandatory compensation or an outright ban. Panellists explain the law and practice relating to non-competes in Germany, France and Italy (where payment of compensation to employees is mandatory) and in California (where non-competes are banned).
