Andrew Hunter QC and Andrew George QC, instructed by Clifford Chance LLP partner Carlos Conceicao and Robert Stewart, represented Mr Tariq Carrimjee in proceedings before the Upper Tribunal where the FCA’s case that Mr Carrimjee had demonstrated a lack of integrity in connection with certain allegedly abusive trades placed by one of his clients was dismissed. The case involves an important analysis of the extent to which the FCA can seek to advance a factual case in Tribunal proceedings which is inconsistent with that contained in other Final Notices issued by the FCA.
