El-Masri v The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

The Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights heard its first case involving a victim of the CIA rendition programme. Khaled El-Masri claims he was tortured and ill treated in an Afghan prison having been wrongfully arrested over eight years ago.  The Grand Chamber will deliver its judgment later this year.  Tim Otty QC and Simon Pritchard intervened on behalf of The Redress Trust.  Further information is available from the REDRESS Press Release, May 2012.docx (51 kb) .
