Ian Mill QC, Tom Richards and Shane Sibbel acted for the UK record industry in obtaining blocking orders under section 97A of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 in respect of three illegal file-sharing websites  – fenopy.eu, kat.ph and h33t.com.

This was a second wave of s. 97A applications by the record industry, following the landmark decision of Arnold J in The Pirate Bay [2012] EWHC 1152 (Ch), in which Ian Mill QC and Tom Richards also acted.  The High Court's judgment contains further important analysis of the section 97A jurisdiction and the circumstances in which it is appropriate to make orders requiring internet service providers to block their subscribers' access to websites used for copyright infringement.
