Adam Lewis QC acted for the two athletes in these cases heard together before CAS.  Each athlete successfully appealed against the IOC’s finding that they had tested positive for exogenous testosterone at the Beijing Olympics Hammer Throw Final, in which they had placed respectively 2nd and 3rd, and that their medals should be returned.  The appeals were unusual in that the athletes succeeded in establishing that the Laboratory’s positive results could not be scientifically relied upon.
