Chelsea FC, represented by Adam Lewis QC and Northridge, was successful on it is appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The transfer ban imposed on Chelsea has been reduced to one window, which has already been served, and Chelsea is therefore free to sign players in the January 2020 transfer window.

CAS provided the dispositive part of its award at the beginning of December, but the reasons will not be available until the New Year.  However the CAS press release states that the Club was in breach in only a fraction of the cases originally charged by FIFA, and that breaches were less serious than FIFA had alleged.
