An Appeal Board of The FA reached, on 30 July 2026, a final decision in relation to historical regulatory infringements which were self-reported by Chelsea FC’s new ownership to UEFA, The FA and the Premier League in May-June 2022.
In July 2023, UEFA and the club reached a settlement agreement under which the club agreed to pay a financial contribution of €10 million to resolve the reported matters fully. In March 2026, the club reached two settlement agreements with the Premier League imposing fines totalling £10.75 million, a two-window registration ban suspended for two years, and a nine-month academy registration ban.
In July 2026, an Appeal Board of The FA allowed an appeal by the club against the initial decision of a Regulatory Commission on sanction. Following the Appeal Board’s decision, the sanctions imposed by The FA comprise a £10 million fine and a two-window registration ban suspended until 30 June 2027.
The Appeal Board’s decision brings the historical regulatory matters to a close.
