The Commercial Court (Leggatt J) has granted an urgent anti-suit interim injunction to protect its jurisdiction over this substantial Financial List dispute concerning the validity and effect of a US$850 million Islamic finance transaction.
The order was made at a without notice hearing upon the application of BlackRock in circumstances where an injunction had been obtained from the Sharjah Court threatening to derail the trial. The case has attracted considerable press interest, including in Bloomberg and the FT.
