Ian Mill QC has obtained an unprecedented form of order from Arnold J pursuant to Section 97A of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 on behalf of the Premier League.

The order requires the major ISPs (Sky, BT, TalkTalk and Virgin Media) to block their subscribers’ access to servers offering illegal streams of Premier League matches. In particular, this will prevent those subscribers from accessing such content via set-top IPTV (or Kodi) boxes. Arnold J’s reasons for the order (made by him on 8 March) will follow.
