The Divisional Court held that there is a rule of customary international law requiring a state which had agreed to receive a special mission to secure the inviolability and immunity from criminal jurisdiction of the mission's members during the currency of the mission. The court also held that domestic law gives effect to that rule automatically as part of the common law.
