JR87 - Religious Education in Northern Ireland

Ben Jaffey KC (leading Steven McQuitty KC of the Bar of Northern Ireland) represented JR87 in her successful appeal to the Supreme Court. The case raises important issues about the Northern Ireland core RE syllabus, collective worship and the practical arrangements for exemption. The Court held that JR87's ECHR rights had been breached, restoring the decision of Colton J.
