In the matter of TT and YY

The President of the Family Division has lifted the anonymity of TT, a trans man who recently gave birth to a son. The Judge balanced the interests in open justice and the interests of TT and his son. The underlying case concerns whether TT should be named on his child’s birth certificate as “mother” or “father” or “parent”. Judgment in the substantive proceedings is expected in due course.
