    Blackstone Chambers’ Senior Clerk, Gary Oliver, will leave his role at the end of 2024 after 15 years at the helm and a total of 34 years at the set. He will be replaced by Blackstone’s two Deputy Senior Clerks, Derek Sutton and Adam Sloane.

    Derek and Adam, who together have more than 50 years’ experience at Blackstone, will take over as Joint Senior Clerks from 1 January 2025. From then Gary will begin a staged retirement, continuing to work as a consultant to Chambers through 2025 and 2026.


    Gary Oliver said: “I’ve been clerking for 42 years with 34 of those years spent at Blackstone Chambers and I’ve loved every minute. Blackstone Chambers is an amazing place with amazing people.”
