On Wednesday 6 April, judgment was handed down in the case of Sheeran & Ors v Chokri & Ors in relation to a copyright claim over the song “Shape of You”. Mr Justice Zacaroli found in favour of the Claimants and held that Mr Sheeran had neither deliberately nor subconsciously copied the relevant part of Shape of You from the Defendants' song "Oh Why". 

Ian Mill QC and Rayan Fakhoury (instructed by Bray & Krais) acted for Mr Sheeran and the other Claimants.
