URS Corporation Ltd v BDW Trading Ltd

On 21 May 2025, the Supreme Court handed down judgment in URS Corporation Ltd (Appellant) v BDW Trading Ltd (Respondent) [2025] UKSC 21. This was the first appeal to consider the interpretation and application of the Building Safety Act 2022. A 7-member Panel Court unanimously dismissed URS’s appeal on all four grounds.

Sir James Eadie KC and Jason Pobjoy KC intervened in the appeal on behalf of the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
